The king was little disappointed with his performance, but in order to motivate him he gave him twenty silver coins. The woodcutter did not loose hope and left for job on next day with motivation .The third week the woodcuttet could only cut down 10 trees. The king beacame furious on woodcutter and decided to punish him. He asked his courtmen to jail the woodcutter. But before sending him to jail, the king asked the woodcutter the reason for his decreasing performance. He tried to justify his commitment towards his job and that he had been honest in his work. The king was not ready to hear any reason so he sent him to jail. The woodcutter pleaded on behalf of his family and kids .So the king granted mercy and the wood cutter left the courtroom. On the way to his home he met a saint and narrated him the entire story. The saint understood the root cause of problem and asked him “during your job how many times did you sharpen your axe “. The wood cutter replied ” None”. The saint said” you were a dedicated and honest employee but not intelligent. You failed because of the blunt edge of your axe”.
