Q. How do you feel being the topper in your college?
A.It obviously feels nice especially when we know how erratic the marking scheme of UPTU is. Although when my friends tease me and pull my leg regarding me getting so good marks I pretend to be modest and humble(laughs off) but inside it does really feel good. It is important to have a good academic record as it acts a plus point to your C.V. The competition in our college is too good and many students secured good marks especially E.C. students in our college who work really hard and secure very good marks. It was a proud moment to get felicitated in our college for my first year result when I secured an aggregate percentage of around 85% in first year.
Q. What is the main motivation for you to study and score these classic marks?
A.To be honest since you really want a frank interview (laughs again) I really      feel motivated to get good marks because I like working hard and gaining practical knowledge of Computer Engineering concepts especially web development and Data Structures. Moreover the competition is so hard these days and since we are UPTU students we need to be extra careful as in off campus placements mostly students with 80% marks or more are preferred by good and large IT companies.
Q. What is your dream and what way will you choose to achieve it?
A. My ultimate dream is to set up my own MNC (Multi National Company).For doing that initially I aspire to get placed in a good company so that I can get an idea of how the employees have to function and respond to pressure situations. Obviously setting up and running a MNC for the long run is not an easy task but I hope I can pursue my dream with my broad vision and hard work. We will see how it goes.
Q. What are the methods you follow to achieve this milestone in academics?
A.I follow a regular study pattern from day one. You cannot get high percentage until you are regular with your studies. Moreover I take labs very seriously. I won’t take names but many students in our class score marks more than 80% but have little practical knowledge. All they do is mug up. It won’t help in the long run. Another important thing is to write your answer scripts in end semester external exams in a good and neat handwriting. It is essential as in our university marking scheme is really bad. Probably each answer copy is checked within 2 minutes. I draw a line in my answer script after answering every question to aid the paper checker. I have been doing it since 1stsemester. Another important thing is to score good internal marks. They play a very important role in increasing your percentage.
Q. Can an ordinary student achieve this milestone? If yes then how. Please give some tips to our readers that will be useful to them.
A.Of course any student can achieve it. I would not say that being a topper is a very big milestone since life and career requires much more than that. If any ordinary student works hard, studies regularly, analyses pattern of questions asked and writes answer scripts neatly he can get good marks. Moreover some of my friends mock me that I do classes in college seriously and my attendance was 87% in last semester. But since I was quite regular in classes I saved time as I didn’t have to understand the concepts on my own which would take much more time. So be as regular as you can, I know it’s sometimes monotonous and tedious to attend classes from 8:30 am but it does pay off in the end. Moreover it teaches you to become regular and resilient as when you would do a job you would obviously have to be regular and be time bound and punctual.
Q. What do you feel about UPTU KHABAR. Please give your rating to this community.
A.I got to know of UPTU KHABAR from Facebook. I follow them on Facebook. I got to know about it for the first time after 3rd semester result. I think they give latest news about university events and do a decent job. They are good and I have seen those also engaging students in discussion through their Facebook posts. I have also seen them posting information regarding internship and job related opportunities for fresher’s and budding engineers like. I don’t know much details but I think it is run by a group of students and probably you can tell me more as you are trying for a trainee position there(laughs). I would probably give them a good rating since it is a nice venture by a group of students willing to help a large contingent of students in UPTU.

UPTU Challenge Evaluation and Scrutiny forms for Even Sem 2014 Exams

This is to inform to all the students that UPTU has released a circular regarding filling of Challenge Evaluation form and Scrutiny form. All those students who are not satisfied with the marks they have attained in the even sem examination result 2014, can fill these forms and verify their doubts. You might have a doubt in your mind about the difference between both the process. Se let me explain you the basic difference in both the process.

What is the difference between Challenge Evaluation form and Scrutiny Evaluation form ?

There is very minor difference between both the forms. Challenge evaluation form is filled when you want the copy to be rechecked completely and wants that previous marking should not be considered while rechecking then Challenge form is filled. It’s fees is high approx Rs 5000 per subject. But if you win the challenge, your fees is refunded double the value you submitted.
Scrunity Evaluation form is very simple form to recalculation for your marks. Only recounting of marks is done. Copy is not rechecked.  To know more about Challenge and Scrunity form, visit here

UPSEE 2014 : Last date to Confirm your seat in a College through Counselling

This is to hearby informed to all the students who appeared for UPSEE 2014 Counselling that UPTU has released a circular which has described that the last date to confirm your seat allotted in counselling by depositing a Demand draft of Rs 15,000 have been extended till 4/08/2014.  The reason for the change in Date was estimated to be Eid Holidays and sunday leaves as well as some other security issues in few areas.

Last Date to Confirm the allotted Seat through UPSEE Counselling

According to the decision made by Hon. Supreme Court, the date for starting new session will remain unchanged and is decided to be 01/08/2014. However any student who has not confirmed the admission through counselling can now report to the college till 4th August and confirm the allotted seat by submitting DD of Rs 15000. This arrangement is specially made for students who appeared in the category for JEE and CMAT based counselling rounds.

Interview with Vikalp Kumar as a topper from ABES .

“Consistency and hard work is what pays you off.”- says Vikalp Kumar from ABES, IT branch, 2ndyear and a BRANCH TOPPER.
In an interview with him, he told us about how was his tour from zero to hero.

Q. How do you feel being the topper in your college?
A. It surely is a feeling of content with what you prepared for the exams and it also makes a pressure to do much better the next time. 

Q. What is the main motivation for you to study and score these classic marks?

A.Somewhere I read “The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling but to rise every time we fall”. My low grades earlier motivated me. I keep telling myself -“No, I have to do better”. The feeling of being on the top really motivates me. 

Q. What is your dream and what way will you choose to achieve it?

A. My dream is to be an Entrepreneur. One thing that tickles my mind each time is – “Why it is that you earn for only the hours you work, be an entrepreneur and earn for the hours you don’t work too”. Right now, I am focusing on B.tech afterwards I’ll be giving CAT for MBA. 

Q. What are the methods you follow to achieve this milestone in academics?

A. There is no better and viable option for success as consistent hard work. Dividing my time equally between the subjects and developing a liking towards the subject is what gets you through.

Q. Can an ordinary student achieve this milestone? If yes, then how? Please give suggestions to our readers that will be useful for them.
A.I feel myself to be a pretty ordinary student too, If I can
achieve any one can do it. The cache is to work hard and be consistent as “duniya me sab kuch itni aasani se nahi milta mere dost” and the most important thing is to never panic and lose hope.

A. UPTU KHABAR is a very dedicated portal having pretty
hardworking people to keep the students updated with each and every detail they will ever need. Keep it up guys for you are doing a good job.

Interview with Ajeet as a topper of MKRECIT .

Every student has a vision to make his own unique identity in the institute he studies. One of the ways to achieve this is scholastic performance in the exams. The top scorers are treated as intelligent heroes of the batch. Ajeetwas the overall topper of 1st year batch. Recently I held a telephone interview with him. It is summarized below.
Q. Hello Ajeet. Congrats for being the topper of our batch. How are you feeling now?
A.I am feeling confident and satisfied. The hard work I had put into has come out as grand success to me.
Q. What was the motivation factor for you to score these classic marks?
A. See, I have never studied for the sake of marks but for the sake of interest. I love books. My career planning is my motivation. I do my studies keeping in my mind mine ultimate goal.
Q. Fine. Then what is your ultimate goal and how you are going to achieve it?
A. My aim is to qualify IES exam. For this I am going to buy made Easy’s postal course for IES and will continue my graduation along with preparation.
Q. What are the methods you follow to achieve good scores in the exam?
A. I already told you I never study for marks. My main motive is to generate interest in the subject. Mathematics and Chemistry are my favorite subjects. So, I don’t face any problem in dealing with them. In the B tech 1st year I faced problem in CCP, MP and electronics. I took the help of friends in understanding the concepts of CCP and MP. For electronics I preferred P. Raja that provide both the theory and selective numerals in one go. I did a lot of practice in Mathematics and Mechanics that filled me with confidence. This all led me to score good marks in exam.
Q. Do you think that any average student can score these classic marks?
A. Why not? The need is just to analyze and update your method of studying. Study with interest.
Q. What are the tips you can suggest to our readers regarding B tech. studies?
A. Graduation education is entirely different from school education. Here practical knowledge is equally important with respect to theoretical knowledge. Hence we must focus on both. Try to understand the concepts .For this you can study same topic from different books to clarify the topic. Internet is also a good source of learning.
Q. Are you familiar with educational website UPTU KHABAR? What are your ratings for it?
A. I don’t use net much. So I am not familiar with it. However the task it is offering to you all is appreciable. My good regards to website management.
