IMS vs AICTE: This story is about 104 students. It was the summer of 2012 when it all began. They made it through the grinding grievances that we all suffer – The entrances and applications to colleges. 104, that’s the number fellas. We face a cynical mathematical problem. Our college has the right, or so they tell, to have 60 seats. “Shouldn’t we be talking about it in 2012 and not in 2015?” questioned one student to the director. ‘’I can’t say more, I wasn’t the director then’’. Next question.
Year overview.
2012
> IMS Engineering college applies for seats extension in EN branch in this year. Application gets approved with an agreement for inspection within a year.
> ‘’Within a year” the AICTE visited IMS for inspection. They returned dissatisfied and filed a complaint.
2013
> Initially it seemed sagacious to let the college authorities deal with this perilous issue ; or so we were manipulated to believe.
> COLLEGE vs AICTE : DISTRICT COURT
2014
> Strike by students was now inevitable.
> Another year , same result .
> The college has since been losing to them in all the tiers of the Indian Judicial system.
It is 2015 now. 104 now seems too much to everybody. Students quote , “the college has villainously turned its back on us .”It’s about time the VC , AICTE , the college work together & come up with a constructive solution .
Students have submitted an application to HRD Ministry office asking for –
> students be transferred to the same college .
> job security is the prime priority .
Honestly, we understand the difference between Ims and Ivy league colleges but we never expected we would get to learn about dishonesty, manipulation and hypocrisy from the very people whose job was to make us better individuals.
