Jat Reservation Stir
Yes, you are guessing it right, the Jat reservation is in hype. Whole nation is debating about the reservation which is now going to be alloted to Jats.
Now the question that rises is, do Jats seriously need an OBC quota in Haryana, even when they comprise 25% of states population and dominate one-third of 90 assembly constituencies. Where two main parties of state, Congress and INLD, are also headed by Jats. The Jat agitation is a part of a national wide pattern where dominating upper caste mobility and reservation benefits.
Almost 10 people died and 150 injured in riots due to which Haryana state has come to a standstill.
The other aspect of this scenario is “Unemployment”. People applying for government jobs, aren’t able to get through even after several attempts. Educated and well skilled people are losing opportunity of doing government jobs whereas on the other hand people with less knowledge get through this rat race with the help of quota.
Jats are powerful Hindu caste and don’t need be classified as “Backward”.
Judgment of reservation should be made on the basis of the poverty line of the country, so that reservation could actually be given to those who can’t get education easily (whether it may be general or reserved caste), rather than giving it to those who are capable of grabbing things through their hard work.
I still don’t understand why people need reservation.
Either because they don’t have faith on their capabilities…
