Date 24th September, 2014, when I opened my facebook and gone through my news feed, it was full of MOM; no not about their mothers but Mars Orbital Mission. India’s MANGALYAN was entered into mars orbit. All were deeply drenched in patriotism feeling; all were feeling proud of being an Indian. “Mera Bharat Mahan”, “Feeling Proud”, “Sare Jahan Se Acha Hindustan Hamara”, etc, were the status floating on every ones news feed. Scanning all these news feed made me felt proud too but also drove me towards a serious problem. A problem regarding future of India, a problem which is being neglected by almost every Indian citizen and the one which will pay in a heavy loss if not resolved soon. I am trying to bring this problem in your focus through this article. Today, we have something in our box which deals with our country. Before, bringing out the problem I will be discussing about mission MOM and then will be drawing it to the main problem.
The Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM), also called Mangalyaan is a Mars orbiter launched into Earth orbit on 5th November 2013 by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). It was successfully inserted into Mars orbit on 24th September 2014, making India the first country to do so in its first attempt. It is India’s first interplanetary mission and ISRO has become the 4th space agency to reach Mars after the Soviet Space Program, NASA, and the European Space Agency. India becomes the only Asian country in the world so far to successfully accomplish this mission. India completes this mission in just 450 crores, 1/10th of the cost incurred by NASA for similar mission ‘Maven’. This mission has been executed without any association with any foreign country, it’s completely indigenous. All the Indian scientists made all the stone unturned for accomplishing this mission and accomplishing this mission on such a low cost budget proves that anything can be done by India.
Going through all these facts, a spark of proud ran all over my body but then suddenly one thing strikes my mind. Why Indians are opting foreign companies and organizations for employment? Yes, this is the main problem arising these days and this question should be questioned by each and every individual by its own and they should figure out their answers. Figuring out the answer for this question lead me to a shocking fact. The extent to which the Indians have made an impact in the U.S. was reeled off in the Rajya Sabha 2008. As per the census, 12% of scientists in U.S are Indians and 38% of doctors in U.S. are Indians and in NASA 36% or almost 4 out of 10 scientists are Indians. Indians are contributing so much to foreign countries that somehow all these peoples are indirectly affecting India’s growth. These facts forced me to think that why we all are feeling proud to be Indians if we are not ready to contribute to it. I asked some of my friends that Why Indians are opting foreign companies and organizations for employment? Their answers were different as per their perceptions but all of them were having one thing common, they think not for country but for themselves. One of my friend answered that foreign companies offers more perks and salary then Indian companies, other one said foreign companies have more standard then Indian ones. One said there is so much corruption in India that no one wants to be over here. In return I asked him that who is responsible for this corruption he said politicians, ministers and started his theory. This mentality is not of only one but of maximum people. If we will switch our self and will support foreign companies and organizations then what will happen to our country. Corruption is because of all of us and if we start stopping on our personal level then it may reduce to some extent. So, I think instead of migrating to foreign companies and organizations due to corruption we should stop it and should serve to our country. Apart from this, the one who opt foreign companies and organization just because of their perks and salary then I must say that they should think for their country first, this will make them actually feel proud on themselves. I personally feel that this mission by ISRO not only impressed the world but also taught a lesson to Indians that Indian organizations and companies are not less than any other foreign companies and their standard is much higher than the foreign ones.
As said by honorable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi he will make the foreign companies to invest in India and will suggest them to Make in India. How will this be possible if we will shift our self to foreign companies? Just think that instead of going to NASA if scientists opt for ISRO then ISRO will be more powerful then NASA as 4 out of 10 scientists in NASA is Indians. If employees instead opting for IBM, Microsoft and other foreign companies will go for Indian companies then growth of Indian economy will beat the other foreign company’s economy with a massive margin. So many Indian doctors are practicing their profession in foreign if they will serve it in India, to their country people then it may be more better.
I just want to convey through my article that it’s good to feel proud on success of our country; we should celebrate it in the same way as we do on winning world cup. But we should also to contribute to our nation on our level. Contributing to our country will actually make us feel proud on our self. We all are aware of Indians capabilities and our intelligence, using this for nation will enable it to include in the tally of developed countries. If this happens the day will not be far when foreign people will rush for seeking employment in India and that day we can say proudly that “MERA BHARAT MAHAN”, “SARE JAHAN SE ACHA HINDUSTAN HAMARA”, “ FEELING PROUD TO BE INDIAN”.
