Remember to sharpen your axe

Dear students , We all want to be successful. So here is a brief story , I am sure that it will inspire you.

Many years ago a poor wood cutter was hired by a king for cutting a forest. The first week he was able to cut down 20 trees. The results impressed the king. The king decided to reward him so he gave him twenty gold coins. The second week he was able to cut only 15.  The king was little disappointed with his performance, but in order to motivate him he gave him twenty silver coins. The woodcutter did not loose hope and left for job on next day with motivation .The third week the woodcuttet could only cut down 10 trees. The king beacame furious on woodcutter and decided to punish him. He asked his courtmen to jail the woodcutter. But before sending him to jail, the king asked the woodcutter the reason for his decreasing performance. He tried to justify his commitment towards his job and that he had been honest in his work. The king was not ready to hear any reason so he sent him to jail. The woodcutter pleaded on behalf of his family and kids .So the king granted mercy and the wood cutter left the courtroom. On the way to his home he met a saint and narrated him the entire story. The saint understood the root cause of problem and asked him “during your job how many times did you sharpen your axe “. The wood cutter replied ” None”. The saint said” you were a dedicated and honest employee but not intelligent. You failed because of the blunt edge of your axe”.

So Dear Students, Remember to sharpen your axe. However hard work may be done , will not reap fruit ful results until and unless you are ready with the right tool. Getting success is not an easy task so be ready to fight for your win.

Few tips for success –

1. Know your goals.

2. Decide on your priorities.

3. Keep yourself motivated through the process.

4. Try , try and try till you succeed.

5. Success is bound to follow

Please send us a brief note on how what more issues you would like to see on UPTU khabar in the coming days, how can you contribute to it and send us some recent pieces of your work if possible. This would enable us to have some more clarity about your and how do we proceed.
